I love what you’ve done, so take this with compliments, but The Starboard wall of shuttlebay 1 is seen twice – in Cause and Effect towards the end where the bay is decompressed, and it appears to be the same wall shown when the shuttle leaves the bay in best of Both Worlds. The wall seems very very plain compared to your depiction (which is beautiful). I’m not sure if you feel like being screen-accurate.
My comment on the project itself (particularly the shuttlebay) is that while it’s massive and beautiful and quite impressive, the graphics (for example, on the floors and those side walls) are a little bit bold. They remind me more of a video game level (such as in Voyager: Elite Force) than it does of the actual sets. The real sets were far more minimal in graphics – white and yellow at most. The big Starfleet logo, and “USS ENTERPRISE” on the wall seems bolder than the real ship would have used. Also, this is a huge nitpick, and this may be a limitation of the software, but I feel like the yellow used on the floor graphics is a bit darker/more buttery/orangy in the show – but that’s such a minor nitpick I just noticed while looking at the shuttlebay.
I’m gonna side with his design choices. The Main Shuttle Bay is gonna be different than 2 and 3. It’s the main area of service for all the shuttles. Also, put this into account. His depiction of the ENT D is based in Season 7. The main shuttle bay can get a make over. Like the other rooms got.
This can be the easier way to accept the differences. Also, since the shot in Cause and Effect were really simple and basic. And had no intention of being used all the time.
That is a factor in why it looks simple. I know the production guys would of made a much more detailed Main room. If they had the money/reason to use it more.
