Hi there, Love the effort! Seriously, this rocks. I just played the YouTube version of your flyby, and i bet you’ve heard this, but you have Ten-Forward on Deck 2. I’m sure you did this just to show what the project is capable of, and to cut down how far away if you were to walk towards it from the Main Shuttlebay.
I have one suggestion for the final product, perhaps you could use the original intended use of the LCARS to show how to get from one place to another, by highlighting the wall panels in the direction needed to get to where you are going. If this is asking too much, then perhaps a level map that could be pulled off the side to show where you are in conjunction to the xyz cords.
You hit a home run. Knocked my socks off. Can’t wait to see this come together!!!
Yeah, that’s not Ten Forward, that’s the officer’s lounge, which I don’t believe was ever shown on the show. It’s similar to Ten Forward in design and purpose, but you might notice, if you look at it again, that it’s rather smaller than Ten Forward should be, and the windows are above, in the ceiling. Ten Forward, on the other hand, is on the underside of the saucer section, and so the windows curve under, towards the floor.
The saucer ring has hundreds of lounge rooms, in blueprints. The ship would never have run out of relaxing space. It’s acceptable. Only 1000+ people are on board. And the ship can hold double to triple that, in emergencies. Lot’s of space for normal operations.
I just like the helpful info you provide to your articles. I’ll bookmark your blog and check once more right here regularly. I am reasonably certain I’ll be told lots of new stuff right right here! Good luck for the next!
They did infact show “2 forward” tons in the show. every time the officers were playing their card games they were in 2 forward and it looks in this simulator to be the exact same as in the show. at least you could see it before the video was taken down.
